First brought to the forefront by Dr. Ihaleakala Hew Len, Ho’oponopono is a prayer method of Hawaiian origin designed to remove limiting beliefs.
I was first introduced to it by Dr. Joe Vitale when read his book Zero Limits.
Joe was able to take Dr. Len’s methods and introduce them to a significantly larger audience.
According to the teachings, when you remove limiting beliefs (data) from your subconscious mind, the inspiration shines through.
And you end up getting to the destination that you desire.
It has worked for me for several years now and I plan on sharing my successes achieved using it in this post.
A brief backstory, I’ve been into self-development since about 2012. First being introduced to things like the Secret and the law of attraction.
But I do have to tell you that Ho’oponopono is the one thing that I’ve learned that I believe has had the largest effects in several areas of my life.
I truly believe that it has become a part of who I am. Woven into my inner fabric to the point that I don’t even think about it anymore. Much like breathing.
When unfortunate situations show up in your life, the only thing you have to say is…
“I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”
Putting it simply, you don’t have to know anything else about how it works.
Just say those words to yourself and that’s all you have to do.
Short-Term, Immediate Results
No matter what causes it, when I feel stressed I simply repeat those words in my head.
And I instantly feel like a weight has been removed from my shoulders.
Physical changes start occurring immediately. My mind begins to clear and feel at peace. Along with my heart rate slowing down.
I feel the tension start to leave my body, similar to what you experience when getting a professional massage. The body and mind become relaxed.
What Are The Long-Term Results
I began to actively use this method for roughly five years now. I’ve managed to resolve many problems in my life that I can directly connect to the use of this method.
One of the biggest things I’ve noticed is the dwindling amount of insecurities that I have. Don’t get me wrong, not all of them are gone but I know that I’m making progress on those too.
My personal relationships have grown and become so much healthier.
I hated my work. I worked a 9 to 5 like many people and hated waking up Monday through Friday. I lived for the weekend.
Look at me now, I’m a successful online entrepreneur and my business continues to grow.
I work with small local businesses to bring them more business and I’m so happy about what I do. I don’t dread waking up every day.
I work from home and I’m my own boss.
The best part is I have a multiple six figure income and I’ve made almost all of it from behind my computer.
Oh and heads up, I’ve shown plenty of others how to do it. You can check it out here.
I don’t have to worry about my money anymore which feels amazing because it’s something I’ve had in mind for about 7 years now.
When I first started with entrepreneurship it was all about me living a certain lifestyle that I dreamed of. Not anymore.
Everything I do now is about generating long term, generational wealth. I don’t want my kids or grand kids to ever struggle with money.
I’m aware of the fact that I’m not the same person as I was when I was at my 9 to 5 struggling to make $30k/year.
When I have flashbacks of my life several years ago, and more importantly of the journey that got me to this point, I realize that there were many times I was at the right place at the right time.
I met the perfect mentor.
I met a client that was perfect for my business.
I got my hands on the right information to learn the skills necessary.
I networked with people that eventually launched my business sky high.
You get the picture, there’s a lot that aligned perfectly.
When you realize that all of those things aligned for you, you understand that there’s something going on outside of the conscious awareness.
Something guiding you along the way. There’s too much going on here for it to be one big coincidence.
It doesn’t really matter to me what you want to call it. Whatever it is you believe in.
God.
The universe aligning.
A higher being.
The subconscious.
In my mind, it’s life. I look at people that are close to me and what’s happened to them since we all went our separate ways since high school or college.
Some are on their way to being extremely successful while some of them are just spinning their wheels.
Their lives are a lot different than mine. They feel stuck and my life is launching into space in so many different ways.
The positivity that’s coming into my life has massive momentum at this point.
I have to say this though. I’m not an advocate of just putting the prayer method into place and hoping things just change for you.
I didn’t do that. I did more.
I believe there are two essentials that you need to focus on to make a lot of money…
Skills and Mindset.
I believe you constantly need to be improving on both.
It’s okay to be heavily involved with prayer and visualization but if you don’t take the necessary level of action then it won’t work at all.
At the same time, many people work ridiculously hard and for some reason they come up short with their income level and lifestyle.
Full disclosure, I was there once. It took me a lot of time to figure out that I was working on my mindset but my action level wasn’t high enough to make a difference.
It takes a lot of time to make these changes and it won’t happen for you overnight.
For that reason, you need to fully understand the value of patience. Patience is even more needed when you’re working on building up a business.

This is where we need to take a deeper look at what causes all of us to be impatient.
I’ll give myself as an example. I notice my patience wearing thin when I have something else that’s bothering me. Usually something completely irrelevant to what I’m getting impatient with.
It’s a limiting belief that we feel the need to change ASAP so we don’t have to feel it.
For me in business it’s happened when I didn’t feel like I was winning and I wanted to make up ground on my goals, so I got impatient.
When you think about it, it takes away my ability to focus on what’s more important and negatively affects my ability to product more results (which is what will actually get me to my goals).
This is the point of Ho’oponopono. By using it we can remove these beliefs from our minds.
There are so many things out there that can get in our way when we’re chasing what success means to us.
Think about the times that you’ve sabotaged yourself. I know you have, we all have. In a way, human beings are the masters of this.
You can be shown some of the most valuable skills on Earth. Maybe you have the best mentor on Earth. But if you have limiting beliefs that you probably won’t get very far with them.
Where Did Our Limiting Beliefs Come From?

Limiting beliefs are the number one reason that people fail in what they set out to do. Particularly in business.
Many out there promote the idea that our limiting beliefs came from our upbringing or events early on in our lives.
But Dr. Len has a different opinion so let’s take a look at that.
According to Dr. Len, we carry many generations of data in our subconscious that effectively blocks us from achieving what we’re capable of.
I’ve really worked on my ability to catch negative thoughts before they have an effect on my physical being.
And then I recite the prayer.
“I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”
Procrastination plagues many. Someone asked Dr. Len about how to get rid of it.
His response was brilliantly simple. “It’s just data, clear it.”
It’s important to remember not to over complicate things.
I mean really, all it is is data. So just get rid of it.
He says that all of this data and beliefs are ingrained in our DNA.
More recently a popular study came out about something known as epigenetics. It has to do with the belief that our environment actually take effect on our genes.
But if you dig, it goes much deeper than.
Rat Experiment Shows Effects of Trauma & How It Gets Passed Down
A study was performed when researchers would electrocute rats while putting a specific scent in a cage. In this case it was a rose scent.
They would simultaneously be monitoring the heart rate of the rate to track the stress levels in the animal.
But wait, it doesn’t get interesting til now.
The tested rats had babies, and then those babies had babies. That’s two generations of rats from the ones that experienced the electrical trauma.
The rats that were two generations down had the exact same response to the rose scent of the rats that were originally tested on.

“It Didn’t Start With You” is a book that completely opened my eyes to this concept.
Mark Wolynn digs into this topic in detail.
There are more than a few teachers of personal development out there that talk about people needing to remove all the bs from our lives instead of continuing to add more bs.
Our journey to success is more about subtracting the bad than anything else. And most people don’t look at things that way.
Most are focused on adding the good.
The methods of Ho’oponopono are built around that.
You need to become more self-aware in every aspect of your life.
Specifically the negative aspects that cause you stress.
You need to be very conscious of these in the moment and work on clearing those up.
Recite the prayer in your mind whenever you notice yourself getting stressed about a situation.
“I love you. I’m sorry. Please forgive me. Thank you.”
Even if you can’t do it or miss it in the moment. Think about your day and if something did in fact upset you, recite it later on.
Always be aware of the negatives and stop them before they have ill effects on your life.
