My Personal Experience Using Mindset Products

I’m not a believer that you simply change your mindset and begin attracting riches and wealth into your life.

Keep in mind that my opinions are based on my personal experiences.

Back in late 2012 I first began my adventure with personal development and mindset principles. I was completely crazy about it and I was consuming as much material as I possibly could.

I was obsessed. I thought I found the secret that my parents and family never discovered.

I was pretending like I had what I wanted when my bank account stayed the same as it always was. I was absolutely talking the talk and never quite walked the walk.

My confidence in the matter slowly started to decline when I realized that my constant practice of it wasn’t resulting in a different life.

Years later I realized that I spent way too much time on my mindset and not enough time on developing the skills necessary to produce the income that I desired.

I Needed The Skills To See The Results

Once I realized I’d been failing to see any real results using frequency and mind over matter teachings, I left college in 2014 and got a full-time 9 to 5.

I worked the same job for almost 4 years and I realized that I was never going to live the life I wanted to live. I wanted financial freedom.

I always wanted to own my own business and be free so I started doing a ton of research online about internet based business models.

Eventually I came across a local lead gen coaching program and it made too much sense to me.

So I hopped in.

It did take some faith for me to make the investment in the program but for the first time I was learning a valuable skill.

I learned how to do lead generation for small businesses on the local level. I was fueling the life blood of any business.

New customers and clients.

It took me a little time to realize that the skill is what I was missing all along. I developed a mindset years prior so when I jumped into the program full force it didn’t take me too long to see results.

I found a great mentor that showed me how to be successful in the business, scale the business and ultimately a very powerful skill.

After only a few months I had a monthly income greater than my 9 to 5 and I quit and pursued the business full-time.

There was a situation at work that I wasn’t too happy about and for the first time I had the ability to walk into my boss’ office and say enough is enough.

Fast forward to today, I have a multiple six figure income and I’m an online entrepreneur.

The vacations I take are incredible and I can do it whenever I want.

My mind is on a completely different level now. And I’m not talking about mindset work.

There’s a mental change you have when you realize that you possess powerful skills and you can bring serious value to the world.

It has to do with something called financial confidence.

I know I have the skills and ability to go out and change my income tomorrow.

Entrepreneurship is very similar to that top-level athlete that has skills that very few have, it then carries over into other areas of their life.

Always remember that your level of income is in direct correlation with the value that you present to the market.

That value is absolutely determined by the skills you possess.

Why High-Income Skills Are So Important If You Want To Be Rich

Way too many people worry more about themselves than anything else.

“This business sounds good but I don’t have the passion for it.”

“I need to find what I love in life before I can start a business.”

Yeah I get it because in the past I thought the exact same way.

Then my mentor came along and broke that thought process. It holds so many people back from reaching their full potential.

Once you start focusing on things that you can to do help others it will change that very quickly.

Figure out which skills you can acquire to bring value to others.

Model after success, follow it and duplicate it.

If your main goal is financial success then you need to model what you do after people who have achieved it already.

You can just take Jesse as an example. He’s not hanging out and meditating all day, he’s using his skills to teach people about various mindset principles.

Think about all of the skills he possesses:

IMO you have to be someone that has multiple years of experience mastering the field you’re in before you can coach other people to do the same thing.

Is Valentus a pyramid scam or is it actually a legit network marketing business that you can run from home?

Background of the Company

Valentus is another network marketing company that’s been built around the health and wellness industry which is very common if you aren’t familiar with the MLM world.

David Jordan launched the company back in 2014. He’s got a ton of experience in the space and has spearheaded the huge growth of the company while “debt free.”

Many will ask why the company’s named Valentus. Well, in Latin it means “prevail.”

It’s easy to presume that this is meant for product consumers to “prevail” from challenges they see and eventually achieve all of their health and diet goals.

Products From Valentus

SlimROAST – these are Italian, Brazilian, Cocoa and Optimum. The flagship products of Valentus are caffeine based and designed to reduce cravings, increase energy and better mood and focus level

Prevail ENERGY – gives the consumer an energy spike to get through slumps in the early PM. All natural ingredients like Maca Root powder, Gotu Kola powder among others

Immune BOOST – you guessed it, this one improves your immune system using a combo of vitamins, minerals and antioxidants including Aloe Vera and grape skin extra

Valentus says they have one of the best payout systems among all network marketing companies. They pay out one quarter of company profits on a weekly basis to the distributors.

A start up bonus can end up being as high as $100 as well as their legacy bonuses maxing at a hundred dollars in the higher rankings.

Their team commission may end up as high as $100k weekly and matching bonuses of 20% beginning at rank 7.

Is Valentus A Pyramid Scheme?

The common issue with network marketing companies that promote health and wellness products is their inability to live up to their over exaggerated claims of their products and not the quality of the products themselves.

If you see Valentus product results/claims out there you may see something like this, “our ‘x’ product is the sole reason why ‘x person’ has lost ‘x pounds.”

There isn’t a coffee in the world that will by itself cause someone to lose weight. That’s a scientific fact.

Almost any nutrition or fitness professional out there will tell you that it takes a combination of a good diet or nutrition plan, coupled with a workout plan.

Everyone out there is always looking for the next best shortcut and they don’t want to hear the level of work that it actually takes to see weight loss results that they desire.

Everything you put in your body comes with a consequence. Whether that’s good or bad.

If you want to eat brownies, that’s okay, but you’re eating that understanding how it will affect your body.

Understand that there’s much more to weight loss than simply consuming a few high-end caffeinated products.

If you use Valentus products in addition to a healthy diet and consistent fitness routine then there’s no doubt in my mind that you would see results.

You need to be realistic about the results you’ll see and take into consideration your commitment level.

Valentus doesn’t do a good job of pushing the reality, instead they push the fantasy side. It doesn’t do anything to help support product claims.

But none of this makes them a scam. It’s just a hit on their marketing plan IMO. And it’s very careless. I don’t like the idea of over exaggerating product results to draw more people into the business.

Especially because I think it’s a solid business opportunity and very good products otherwise.

Lawsuits With Valentus

There was one lawsuit back in 2016 involving Valentus and a company called Advanced Laboratories International LLC. They filed a lawsuit against Valentus for $3.18 million for an issue with a coffee shipment.

Upon doing extended research, it wasn’t involving the FDA or product safety laws. Simply an issue with a supplier contract.

However, we did discover something rather interesting. Valentus’ wholesale cost for a box of SlimROAST coffee is about $6/box.

They retail to distributors and consumers for about $60/box. You and your distributors/customers are paying ten times what Valentus is paying.

That doesn’t necessarily mean that you have to wave the red flag. Consider that the iPhone has a major mark up as well.

It takes Apple close to $50 per unit and they sell it to the consumer for roughly $1000.

Every business out there marks up their products because without doing so they wouldn’t be in business.

They take into consideration things like salaries, profit margins, marketing cost, overhead and distribution costs.

I think it’s an interesting piece of information though and I thought I’d share it. It was actually included with the lawsuit statement.

Another important thing to note is the company’s “F” rating with the Better Business Bureau. While the BBB doesn’t always have the ability to display a company’s true integrity, this fact may raise some questions for people.

Another odd thing is the various addresses that the company has listed for it’s headquarters. There are separate addresses listed on their website, return address as well as on the BBB site.

Valentus, Legit Network Marketing Opportunity?

I’ve been a part of network marketing companies and I know what people think when they get involved in this business.

They automatically think they have to get salesy with their closest friends and family. That doesn’t have to be the case though and IMO you should avoid it.

Having been through it, I know there are much more effective avenues to bringing people onto your team as a distributor.

Think about things like home events, passing out business cards, flyers and maybe the most effective in this situation would be attending coffee shops where people are already interested in coffee.

The legitimacy of this company shouldn’t be in question. It’s legit.

Yes it is a company that’s on the newer side but if you’re an avid coffee drinker then you could easily use this opportunity to fund your love for coffee.

What Made Me Leave Network Marketing for the Local Lead Gen Biz, The Best Business Model in 2019

The thing about network marketing is the constant need to hit the next level to increase your income.

But it’s never easy to predict when you’ll rise to that next rank. It could be 6 months or it could be 5 years.

Nowadays I would never put in all of that effort and work just to maintain my current financial earnings.

Almost every day is a struggle to find new people to bring onto your team or new customers to sell the product too. It’s a daily battle.

Jungle Scout is a popular tool among sellers on Amazon FBA. It’s used to do initial product research to see if the product has the potential to sell well.

In a nutshell, it allows the user the ability to research significantly faster than if they were to do it the old-fashion way.

The core principle: money loves speed.

I’d like to offer an unbiased review on Jungle Scout since I’ve used it and have experience building a couple Amazon businesses that have been successful.

Even though those of you who have followed me know that I’m a local lead generation expert. My lead gen biz has allowed me to build passive income north of $50k/mo.

I think it’s important to point out that I have no affiliate with Jungle Scout. My goal here is to offer the experience I’ve had with the tool so you can use it if you find it useful for your business.

Are all of the tools worth purchasing?

The tool that I found most useful and why.

Jungle Scout Chrome Extension

There are two different tools within Jungle Scout. There’s the web app and the chrome extension.

With the chrome extension you will be charged a one time fee of $250 and have life time access to it.

It basically allows you to see product data for each listing while surfing Amazon.com.

It will show you rough estimates of the product’s sales/mo as well as the sales revenue. Yes they’re estimates but if you listen to other Amazon FBA sellers, it’s quite precise.

If you then go to the listing of the product you can select to see even more advanced info. These include:

• sales rank
• monthly revenue
• price
• listing quality score
• reviews
• if it’s prime or not

Another cool feature is the ability to do research on an entire niche. So let’s say you wanted to look up “portable bluetooth speaker.”

You’d simply type it into the search bar and then you’ll be shown the total amount of reviews and total sales of every product sold in that niche.

This makes it a lot easier to identify how competitive a niche will be.

Total reviews on products and estimated monthly sales are two crucial elements of determining which products you should sell on Amazon.

Web App and Niche Hunter

These tools are purchased on a subscription plan. There are three tiers of membership.

Startup ($29/mo), Standard ($49/mo) and Business ($69/mo).

The purpose of the web app is to use many filters to quickly sift through Jungle Scout’s database for information.

Let’s use a price filter as an example. In this case let’s say you want to set a minimum and maximum cost of a product and you also want to see which of those products make between $6k-$40k/mo.

It allows you to quickly find products that meet your specs and show potential to be good sellers.

Niche Hunter is more of a broad tool in the sense that you can sift through niche info by category to find those that have profitable potential.

It allows you to easily set some parameters and choose some categories.

After that it will display some niches with specific keyword opportunities. Then you can even dive deeper through those!

You will be shown things like related keywords, top sellers, sales and number of reviews in the given niche.

It’s a convenience and time-saving tool.

You can sort through so many different niche and product opportunities in a short time and efficiently find products that have a high potential to sell well.

If you find a niche that piques your interest, then you circle back to the Amazon site and use the chrome extension to do even further research.

The web app can be very beneficial but many Amazon FBA sellers say it isn’t a necessity to succeed.

There’s another way to do effective research on any product just by using the chrome extension and Amazon’s best seller list.

Great Research Technique Using Jungle Scout

The only thing you have to get is the chrome extension. After that head over to the “Amazon best seller’s list” with a simple Google search.

Amazon updates this page consistently with new top sellers.

You can choose any category you’d like.

While this method does require more time to dig deep, it’s free and still effective.

Pick a product that you’re interested in and look at the monthly revenue and reviews with the chrome extension.

Check out the competitors and other recommended products and keep going through as many related products as you can.

Once you come across a product that’s doing $20k-$30k/mo in sales and has at least 100 reviews or so, make a note and be sure to research it further.

If you listen to advice from top Amazon sellers, they’ll tell you it’s better to spend time this way using the chrome extension versus the lists given from the web app.

You can get a better feel for the products when you’re actually able to see the product and read the real reviews as opposed to staring at a generated list.

You can also find products that maybe you’ve never thought of or noticed before.

Conclusion

The chrome extension is a tool that has extreme value if you’re serious about running an Amazon FBA business. The $250 price tag is more than worth it IMO.

Before I wrap up my review on Jungle Scout, I’d like to share with you what made me move away from running an Amazon FBA business.

Why I Do Local Lead Generation Now

Any of you who have followed my blog for some time now know that I have plenty of experience with the Amazon FBA business.

However, I didn’t even start in the business until I’d already build a multiple six figure lead gen biz.

All it was for me was a way to diversify the way I made money online. Also, I love dabbling in more than one business models online.

I’m passionate about it.

I spent a couple years running a couple different Amazon FBA business, launching multiple products and I did make money in the space.

But at the end of the day I knew I had to go back to local lead gen and double down. Here’s my reasons why:

• running an Amazon FBA business has gotten significantly harder in recent time. This is because of an influx of sellers on the platform. Let’s face it, coaches and courses seem to be crawling out of the woodwork on the daily
• there’s a massive time investment when it comes to Amazon FBA. You have to find the right supplier, product creation and shipment from overseas. Also the money you’ll need to fund your first bulk order. Even after all the time spent there’s still no promises that your product will be sold successfully.
• poor profit margins compared to other online models. Since you’ll be selling physical products, a good chunk of your profits will go to cost of goods sold and obtaining another order. Your sale price is greatly determined by the price of your competitor’s products. This is driving down the profit margins as more and more sellers get into business.

I don’t have to worry about any of those in the lead gen biz. I realized how good I have it and I knew I should scale that business further.

I’m able to completely dominate any niche that I choose to get into.

My $50k/mo income is no mistake or stroke of luck.

I’ve spent a ton of time honing and mastering my skill set to the point that I have a distinct advantage over my competition.

At this point my success is very systematized and predictable. I know where I can and will win.

I’ve had complete confidence that each of the lead gen sites I’ve built will make me money sooner than later. They all pay me anywhere between $750-&2500/mo without me doing much of anything.

I don’t really make guesses as to which one’s I’ll find success with. It’s not necessary like you sometimes have to do in the Amazon FBA business.

This lead gen biz is by far the most stable online business I’ve ever built and that’s why it’s my bread and butter.

The most important thing I’ve acquired from this business is financial confidence.

What does that mean?

It means that if something happened to all my properties today, I’d be fully capable of using my skills to go out and produce that income again.

This model is beautiful because small business is the backbone of America and it isn’t going anywhere anytime soon. More importantly, neither is the internet which is in it’s infancy stage.

That’s why I think it’s so important to educate people on this amazing business opportunity. The local lead gen business has completely changed my life.

The meat and potatoes of Gabriel’s eCom course is the act of selling physical products digitally and growing your business by using FB ads.

He had a long road to establishing a successful seven figure eCommerce business. Just before beginning his online journey he was a salesman for a used car dealer and hated what he did.

Let’s look at what the eCommerce biz entails.

By many it’s referred to as drop shipping which basically means you don’t handle physical inventory.

Instead, you acquire all your product via manufacturers that ship directly to those that buy your product. Most times these manufacturers are located overseas.

It’s nice because you can find success with almost any product type you want to sell. Sports equipment, fitness equipment, key chains.

You get the picture.

But how do you find the customers to buy from you?

With this course, it’s the use of FB ads.

It’s important to put some thought into the branding of your product these days. The eCommerce world has become very competitive and often times branding is what will set your product apart.

A light bulb with speakers. That was Gabriel’s first product that he sold. Sounds ridiculous? Well he generated over $400,000 worth of revenue with that product.

He first tested it to see if he liked it before selling it. If you don’t enjoy it then why would anyone else?

One of the tips he offers is selling product in bundles. Increasing your value by offering 3 or 4 as opposed to 1.

You can still sell 1 but depending on the product you’re selling you can switch it up.

With his product he noticed that many people preferred buying three which allowed him to max out his sales.

People are always considering how they can get more for their money and that’s exactly what the bundle is designed to trigger.

He saw great success but eventually ran into a big issue with his supplier. His supplier wasn’t able to get him the product so not only could he not fulfill new orders but he was all dealing with charge backs.

He had to pay $27k out of his own bank account to fulfill the charge backs.

It’s important to understand doing due diligence on your suppliers so you can avoid this costly mistake before it happens unlike Gabriel.

The difficulty with selling physical products through manufacturers is finding one that can handle the volume that you’ll be able to push out if your product is successful.

You don’t have that issue when you’re selling information online, just physical products.

Honestly, I’ve gone through and seen many eCommerce course that are packed with more training.

But that’s not always better.

If you’ve ever gone through any kind of extended training then you’ll know that when you get overloaded with information sometimes it causes your brain to become paralyzed and over analytical.

Learning from someone like Gabriel or any mentor/coach is always a great idea because they can save you a lot of time and money.

You’ll be able to learn from someone who has made a lot of mistakes and figured out what works.

This is even more true when it comes to FB ads because they can be very tricky for someone new to them. Particularly the targeting system can be tough for a beginner.

IMO there’s never a time where learning on your own is a good idea in any business. You don’t want to pay for all the mistakes that you can make. Especially when you can learn from someone like Gabriel.

Challenges of eCommerce

It can appear to be really easy to be successful in eCommerce nowadays with all of the big eComm people strutting their big numbers all across your screen.

I’ve even seen one story where someone went from new product launch to $100k/day in a week. Wild.

Even take Gabriel for instance, apparently he went from 0 to $8 million in just over 13 months.

I don’t know if it sounds too good to be true to you but let’s take a look at some of the challenges that you don’t see from these people.

#1 You won’t see good results from every product you launch

#2 The thing about FB ads is they have a small shelf-life. Meaning that one day you will have to create new ads or offers because you will go through your entire target audience and the product/offer will be stale. Also, FB ads take a lot of time and money to monitor and maintain.

#3 There can be a lot of challenges with physical products. Manufacturer, damages, returns, etc.

#4 FB ads are getting very competitive for eCommerce which can results in a rise in ad cost

#5 Lower profit margins because the sale of the good eats away at them as well as the constant need for paid advertising, in this case FB. IMO that’s a strong reason why a lot of people in eCommerce become coaches for higher margins

Since profit margins can be so low it causes a lot of people to go the affiliate route or like Gabriel, to create a digital information product where your profit margins are damn near 100%.

You also have to consider the time that it takes to run a successful eCommerce biz. You’ll have to set up and maintain FB ad campaigns daily as well as handling the customer order fulfillment which is ongoing.

But if you’re one of those people still in a 9 to 5 job then any online business opportunity can be an extremely enticing option.

There’s no doubt about it, Gabriel knows what he’s doing and how to teach people how to find the same success as him. He’s got plenty of successful students to prove that.

If you’ve always had the dream of selling physical products, even if that dream was a brick and mortar, then by all means invest in this course and live it.

This business in no different than any other online opportunity in the sense that if you bust your ass and have the desire to succeed then you will do so.

It’s really important that you love the opportunity because you need to able to find joy in the entire process. Even when you’ll fail because you will. If you enjoy it then you’ll be able to pick yourself up and get to work again.

You can’t expect to find your success over night. You need to have some fortitude so you can establish long-term success.

If you have an instant gratification mindset then your first step is to get that shit outta your head because it won’t happen.

How to Create Wealth Investing in Real Estate is a book written by Grant Cardone, AKA Uncle G, that teaches you crucial ins and outs of the real estate world.

He aims to show how to have success, avoid faulty thoughts and other common mistakes to steer clear of. He provides great plans and strategies for people with little to no background in the business world and no degree.

Uncle G’s goal is always to show how people can turn their lives upside down and find financial success just like he did in his mid 20s.

Grant was one of the first figures I studied when I first became an entrepreneur back in 2012. He’s constantly putting out value driven content and it never gets stale.

His personality and energy are infectious. My favorite work of his is The 10X Rule along with Sell or Be Sold.

Throughout this post I will share my thoughts from his real estate book along with why I believe my local lead gen biz is closely related to physical real estate.

We will also cover the importance of high-income skill sets and the necessity to continuing growing them. I think it’s crucial that you invest in these skills before jumping into the real estate world.

Grant already possessed many skills before he made his first real estate deal.

He was at the top of his profession as a salesman and was a top notch sales coach in a very profitable industry.

A high-income skill is defined as any particular skill that can generate at least $10,000/mo for you.

If you don’t possess a skill that can do that then I believe in finding a coaching program just like I did. I found a mentor that taught me the ins and outs of the local lead generation model and it allowed me to build supreme financial confidence.

I relate the local lead biz to physical real estate because I build assets that give me passive income but in local I don’t incur the big upfront cost.

Grant Cardone’s Background

Uncle G didn’t do his first real estate deal until he was 33. By that time he had already found great success in the sales world.

The first property was a single family house which he acquired a normal loan for, telling the bank that he planned to live in the home (which he didn’t).

He was hooked.

Everything was smooth for the first six months. He was renting it out for $750/mo and making $130/mo profit. That was until the tenants picked up and moved out.

After 3 months he’d burned through all of his profits and quickly sold the house to avoid further losses.

He chose to never go into single family homes again. He acquired his first multi-family unit three years later in Houston, TX.

According to Grant, he check out over 500 apartment complexes over the course of 3 years.

He put up $350k cash on that first deal and now he has hundreds of millions in his real estate portfolio. Very impressive.

What Does Grant Look For In Real Estate Deals?

These are a few important things to know about how Grant looks at deals:

• must be in a great location
• difficult to replace
• not concerned about what he has to pay for
• will pay more for a deal where location can’t be replaced

One thing you’ll notice Grant repeating is the mistake most people make when they shop for real estate.

They have a budget.

It limits you when hunting for deals because you miss out on great deals that maybe you have to pay up for just a little bit.

You’ll need to find a way to produce more income and save more money. Period.

That’s why it’s so damn important for you to develop skill sets that increase your income level consistently.

There’s such an incredible opportunity in 2019 for you to develop digital marketing skill sets and work with small businesses.

I love using free traffic and using it to generate leads for said businesses.

Small business owners have money to spend and are willing to if they know that you can make them even more money.

Uncle G says it best, “who’s got my money?”

Grant’s Money Saving Strategy

I’ve gotta say that this strategy has changed my life. I employ it in my life today.

Let’s use an example, say you have $100k in monthly income.

He sends 40% of that to the IRS.

He puts another 40% into a savings account that NEVER gets touched unless the money is being used to purchase more real estate.

And the remaining 20% is what he lives off of. So with this example that would be $20k/mo to live on.

He stockpiles cash in the savings account and when he has enough to go in on a deal that he loves, then he strikes.

If you repeat this process over and over again, you’ll have an impressive portfolio in short order.

It sounds really nice, right?

So why don’t more people do it?

Because most people can’t afford to live on 20% of their income?

So why can’t they?

Because they don’t possess high-income skills!

Grant makes it very clear. He has no sympathy for anything but the use of this rule. He believes in it in his core and he lives by it.

If you can’t afford to live on 20% then your only option is to increase your income.

Grant has two high-income skills that allow him to make more money than most people out there.

Sales and keynote speaking.

Time for money yes, but let’s be honest… It’s time for A LOT of money.

That gives him the ability to save up a tremendous amount of money and he puts that into real estate deals that make him a lot more money.

In Conclusion

The great thing about Grant’s book, How to Create Wealth Investing in Real Estate, is that it’s filled with his personal experiences and practices he uses today.

It’s not all theory.

He aims to teach many lessons that will hopefully allow readers to avoid the same mistakes he made early in his real estate career.

He talks about how his life changed when he changed the people he surrounded himself with.

He went from being around people who told him how great he was doing to people who told him how much more he could do.

He says there was a point where he stepped back from doing real estate deals and that alone is the single largest mistake he’s made in his career.

As I said before, I’ve begun implementing Uncle G’s money saving teachings in my own life. I’m setting aside a ton of cash to be able to go in on deals with my mentor and now business partner, Dan.

He’s invested in some large real estate deals in his life already.

All of my lead generation success is due in large part to Dan. He was the first mentor that ever showed me a way to success.

We like to call it virtual real estate. We build sites and rank them high up in search engines. Use the traffic we get to create leads and send them to small business owners in the area.

Since I’m the owner of any site (or property) I create, I can do with it as I see fit. I have complete control. I choose which business I want to work with and if they don’t pay me every month then I find another one, kind of like a tenant.
