What I’ve done is scoured a site called Udemy. It’s a platform that you can visit to learn almost anything. I’ve sifted through many web development courses and compiled a list of the top 6.

Udemy offers so many different courses that as a beginner you can be very overwhelmed since you don’t know what you’re looking for.

Hopefully I can guide you in choosing one that works best for you.

Brad Hussey, Ultimate Web Designer & Developer Course

The reviews that this course has gotten on Udemy pretty much speaks for the quality of it. That’s why it’s in the heralded top seller section on the site.

The reviews alone will tell you all you need to know here. People have flat out seen results and they see them quickly.

Brad encourages every student to learn by doing. Even if you don’t know it all quite yet he wants you to jump in and do it. Even learn through some mistakes if you have to.

But don’t expect to be sitting around too long before you’re working on your first site. It’s not all theory and philosophical teachings here.

He’ll guide you through 23 unique projects to build up your skill set. Some of the tools you can expect to work with are CSS3 and HTML5.

Once you push through those guided projects you’ll be off to tackle your own project that you build alone. That’s exactly how you establish that level of confidence you need to do it on a client’s project.

I think the cost of the course is also what helps it stand out over some other courses offered on Udemy.

Anthony Alicea – JavaScript, Understand the Weird Parts

Some of these trainings that we’ll cover are for beginners, like Brad’s course above. This isn’t one of those.

This training is designed to help you build on your existing web development foundation. Furthermore, you should have a decent amount of experience with JavaScript before going through this one.

There’s so much to learn about JavaScript. Most intermediate web devs haven’t experienced half of what it’s capable of.

Java has been in use for quite a while now and yet it’s still one of the most used systems in today’s day and age.

You’re likely to find someone that’s been dealing with Java for years and they’re still perplexed by it at times. In this course you’ll learn that most times it’s due to developers not truly understanding how the system operates.

The in-depth nature of this training will allow you to comprehend the applications and how to debug Java issues much better.

Stephen Grider, The Complete Developer’s Guide to MongoDB

In order to take this course you should already have a solid foundation in web development. This course is similar to the last in that it’s not for the beginner.

Specifically an understand of full stack and nodes. If both of those boxes are checked then you’ll have trouble finding a better program on Udemy.

The main purpose of this course is to learn everything there is to know about MongoDB. It’s got to be the most used database solution system at this time.

IMO one of the best features of the course is all of this testing that is done. You’ll have to pass several tests on modules throughout the training so you can gauge how well you’re retaining what you’re learning.

Many other programs fail to help you track that. You don’t want to get to the end only to realize you forget everything.

I think it’s important to point out how much Stephen assists the students that go through the program. That’s a HUGE plus IMO.

Modern React with Redux

This is another training that’s led by Stephen Grider. Above we talked about his course that’s built for the developers that have a prior background. Modern React with Redux is the exact opposite as it is made for beginners.

React is more of a future play as the technological advancements continue to happen.

There’s two different paths that you can go down with this one. One if you’re an absolute noob and another if you have a small background but you’re wanting to grow.

But you do have access to both. So if you want to refresh what you know then just start on the path with a lower difficulty.

Maybe you’ve never even heard of Redux and that’s okay. It’s should also be seen as an opportunity to get ahead of the game.

Redux operates alongside React and that means you’ll be able to scale apps quicker. That means more income for you.

Rob Percival, The Complete Node.js Developer

Similar to the first one we cover, this is all about getting your feet wet and learning by doing.

Node.js is the main focus of this course and you’ll be educated on every aspect of it. It’s used by many to build network programs like servers.

If you can add this to your tool belt as a full stacker then you’ll be set for quite a while.

If you go check out reviews on this course you’ll find a theme, the teachers are incredible. And you get two for one.

Andrew Mead is an established professional in web development and has been in the game for years. He also has plenty of experience teaching other people how to do the same thing.

He really does have an impeccable reputation in the community.

And then you add Rob Percival to the mix and you’ve got a top notch duo of teachers that have your best interest in mind.

Ask almost anyone that’s gone through this course and they’ll tell you that these guys make the time to answer any question or concern you will have.

IMO that’s one of the most important features that any online course can provide to it’s students.

Colt Steele, Web Developer Boot Camp

This is the best option of any of the courses that I’ve listed. Colt Steele is a fantastic teacher and the massive amount of content in here is incredible.

Yes he has the knowledge but he also does a great job of relaying that information to his students. That can probably be credited to his professional teaching background in web development.

Why wouldn’t you want to learn from this guy?

It’s one of the few courses that you’ll find that can be tailored for a noobie or an advanced student looking to refine or refresh their skill.

I think all of that in addition to the “learning by doing” aspect of this course makes it stand out above the rest. You’ll be jumping in head first on projects from the get go.

He has teaching assistants available constantly to answer any questions that you have. Whether it’s a beginner question or you’re doing work for someone and you need help solving a problem

How I Make 6 Figures Online

I’ve never been the kind of person that’s had a huge interest in learning how to code. I do think it’s fascinating but it’s not what I’d want to do forever.

I do local lead generation because it allows me to work on my own projects and properties as opposed to getting paid to work on someone else’s.

I don’t know about you but I love to look at numbers when trying to gauge not only my own success, but others as well.

And it’s an even higher amount than that because when you’re in front of as many people as he is, that number increase dramatically on a daily basis.

What do they do? How do you use them?

These questions are answered in the course. Online tools are extremely important in this space because they allow you to do due diligence, track progress and present hard copy results to your clients.

IMO it’s very important to make sure you have a good time doing business. Whether it’s the technical aspect or developing relationships with people during sales.

If you’re having fun working, or bringing in results it’ll only motivate you to work that much harder to feel that feeling more often.

And honestly people will want to work with you if you provide big time results and have a good time doing it. It’s all in the relationships.

A large portion of the course is devoted to you being able to on board more and more clients as a new agency owner.

It’s the biggest issue you’ll face early on in any business. Once you get the ball rolling you start to gain momentum, referrals and people coming to you instead of the other way around.

But you don’t want to work with just anybody.

The Business Model That Has Me Making 6 Figures This Year

I’ve done social media marketing myself. Been there done that.

Until I realized that I was making more money in local lead generation with less maintenance and work.

And it’s much easier to scale than a social media marketing agency.

I just want to make a general statement when it comes to eCommerce courses.

Many of the gurus you see today are only making an income with their programs and not actually in the trenches of eCommerce anymore.

So be sure to do your homework on any course that you’re considering.

With that said, it doesn’t take me that long to be able to distinguish the “pretenders” from the “contenders” with these coaches.

I’ve experienced a handful of these Amazon courses myself so I know what’s real and what’s chewed up and spit back out.

I’m going to cover the goods and bads of the business model as well as how this model compares to other online business opportunities.

It’s hard for me to personally endorse the model because of the growing levels of competition.

Every year the Amazon FBA business and eCommerce in general get so much more competitive with floods of new entrepreneurs coming into the space.

Even a couple of years back things were so much easier to get rolling than they are now.

That’s the problem with selling a physical product online. You’re constantly up against other sellers that are trying to beat you to sales.

The only way to do that is price or branding when you’re selling the exact same product.

Well what about quality? Again, with a rising amount of entrepreneurs in the space, more and more often you’re selling products from the same manufacturer.

There are only so many manufacturers making a certain type of product overseas so eventually you’ll run into someone selling the exact same thing.

That’s why I’m so happy that I launched my local lead gen biz when I did.

It allowed me to move from high competition to a much lower level of competition and gave me a model that’s much easier to scale.

I’m no longer working in my business (like I was in Amazon FBA). I now work ON my business every day.

But I don’t have to do it everyday, I choose to. The local lead biz results in passive income which is amazing.

That’s why at the conclusion of this post we’re going to do a comparison between my local lead gen business and the Amazon FBA business.

Amazon Millionaire Summary

There are four different ways of selling on Amazon that Jordan teaches in this course. They’re the following:

I really like his style of coaching and IMO he does a good job of bringing value to his students with this course.

The course has a one time investment fee of $697.

I think there’s a need for some FB ads training in order to help bring more people to your listing and it isn’t included in this training.

It’s really important because it can help you get more reviews for your products faster.

These days you have to get real smart and efficient about the way you promote your listing in order to get it ranked higher.

FB ads worked the best for me and that’s why I say it’s so important.

All I did was run a FB ad, directed consumers to a simple sales funnel to collect email info and then target them with an email campaign afterward.

You must keep that in mind because it’s not all about the product you choose to sell, it doesn’t stop there.

One of the most important things is figuring out how you get more people exposed to what you’re selling.

Goods & Bads of the Amazon FBA Business Model

All of us understand that no matter the business model you’re working with, they all have positives and negatives to them.

Amazon FBA is no different despite the beliefs of many coaches you see while scrolling down your FB feed.

The Good:

• you’re operating on the biggest selling platform on the planet – Amazon does well over 40% of online sales
• generates money passively for the most part once listing ranks
• you can possibly build a brand that you can sell off at a further date
• still solid niches to sell in
• higher likelihood of long-term success than a model like drop shipping

The Bad:

• the search for a solid supplier
• fees you must pay to Amazon for using their platform
• if your account is disabled you’ll lose all your income with one click
• getting a listing ready can take months
• level of competition rises every single year which decreases profit margins
• customer service needed as well as product returns
• initial capital needed to fund product inventory

You can absolutely see success in the business but you have to set the right expectations before you jump in.

Your perseverance must be strong to deal with products that will flop inevitably. Having the ability to push past those and onto the next product is crucial.

There are plenty of highs and lows with this model so you have to be up for that challenge and have a burning desire to push through constantly.

Concluding Thoughts

IMO Jordan did a really good job developing this course.

I believe Amazon Millionaire brings a lot of value to people that want to find success with the Amazon FBA business model.

So it’s not that I don’t believe in the program, the business model just isn’t for me.

I was in those trenches for some time and yes I saw a certain level of success but it just didn’t vibe with what I wanted and who I am.

Toward the end of my Amazon FBA career I was getting into local lead generation and I quickly realized that I wanted to pursue that more.

I was making more money with a lesser degree of difficulty.

I control everything. I don’t pay any fees to a company like Amazon when I produce massive results for a client.

That leads to increased profit margins which we can all agree is a beautiful thing.

There’s a special feeling I get when a client tells me that I changed their life and yes that’s happened.

Why? Because I provide the lifeblood of any business. Leads.

Which means I can have a direct impact on the success of a business.

The money I make daily with local lead gen is great and all but I’m in this for the long game. I want to know that I’ll be making this kind of money for years to come and local lead gen gives me that unlike Amazon FBA.

Just because you’re dominating a product niche today doesn’t mean that’ll be the case a couple months from now or a year from now.

A competitor comes along and creates a better brand and next thing you know you’re no longer at the top.

I operate in a much less competitive space with my local lead biz because I can do business in any city in the world and on top of that any niche out there.

Maybe I don’t dominate a huge market like Amazon provides but I can be the apex predator in a ton of smaller markets.

Any business owner will take low competition over high competition. Who doesn’t want to be at the top consistently?

The Amazon selling model taught me a lot through my trials and tribulations but I continue to say that local lead gen is the best way to make money online in 2019.

Let’s dig a little deeper into the legitimacy of the company and the business opportunity.

Pure Haven – Background

This company actually operates under a different name than its predecessor, Ava Anderson.

Ava Anderson was rebooted under this new name after a series of run-ins with the USDA.

The old company made claims that their products were completely free of dangerous chemicals which the USDA proved was false.

On top of the issue listed above, the USDA also found them guilty of doing false advertising. There was an issue with the company claiming that their oils were organic which was also false.

Less than three weeks after Ava Anderson was closed, a new company arose, Pure Haven Essentials.

Pretty quick turnaround.

Soon after Pure Haven Essentials was open for business, the company again started making statements that their products were completely organic.

Although it raised red flags, the company came out on top of any testing that was given to them by the Oregon Tilth Certified Organic Commission.

Most likely because the change in leadership at the top of Pure Haven Essentials since it was relaunched.

At the top of the leadership panel, Joe Ochoa has taken over the business as CEO. He’s got an impressive past in sales having run a highly successful company for several years.

Ava Anderson’s name was tainted by the false statements made and harmful products but Pure Haven Essentials has seen a resurgence under new leadership.

It’s evident by their business growth from year one to year two.

Year one – $15,000,000

Year two – $20,000,000

Pure Haven – Products They Offer

Pure Haven Essentials offers a TON of products to customers. I’m talking way over 100 of them.

Like we covered above, they’ve created products that are organic and without harmful chemicals to their customers.

The company is all about increasing the health levels of everyone that consumes a product. They specifically have a lot of them that are catered to skin care.

Their products are produced at their own facility to ensure that everything is up to their standards from standpoints such as environmental safety and/or to avoid animal cruelty with their products.

Since they have so many products that they offer, it would be ridiculous to list them all on this post so instead I’d like to give you an idea of product categories.

They offer products specifically tailored to men, women and babies.

Some of them require direct oil or lotion application and some of them are consumed via spray.

They even have some that are designed to improve the state of your home to make it a very healthy environment.

Pure Haven’s cost to you for the business opportunity is very very cheap when you compare it to the cost of “membership” to similar network marketing gigs.

And it’s a very easy breakdown which makes it easy to understand what the financial cost looks like.

It’s fair to say that every network marketing company is surrounded by some level of criticism solely based on the negative feelings people have toward the business model.

The majority people unfairly believe that all of these companies are pyramid schemes.

Don’t get me wrong, there have been many cases where these companies have been deemed pyramid schemes.

Sometimes a company might not have the best compensation plan, making it very difficult to see a positive ROI. These companies can quickly be deemed a pyramid scam because of that.

The #1 reason that Pure Haven isn’t a pyramid scheme is because they don’t make their money solely on the recruitment of other distributors.

They exchange tangible, valuable products for money and that’s what’s required for a legit business.

You can absolutely make a higher income than people who joined before you but it’s not easy. Network marketing in general isn’t easy.

It takes a lot of time, effort and serious skill in the right areas.

How Can You Succeed As A Pure Haven Essentials Consultant

Yeah, so you have to have skills right…?

Okay so what skills do you need? Well one stands out above the rest and that’s good ol’ sales.

Sales, sales, sales.

If you can get in front of many people that have a genuine interest in what you’re selling and you’re good at selling then you can succeed in this business.

It’s a numbers game. You have to have enough people to sell to.

Many times that’s the challenging part for network marketers.

They simply don’t have enough people to sell to and they have no way to get in front of more people once they go through all their friends and family.

Becoming a leader and speaking in front of a small group of people are also very important.

As a team leader you must be sufficient at training others on how they can be successful.

If you hold a home event you must be calm when speaking to a group of 5-30 people that may be skeptical about what you’re selling.

You have to learn to thrive in those environments.

At the end of the day the only thing that matters is the amount of sales you have flowing through your team every month.

Your selling skills are directly proportional to your outgoing sales.

It becomes even more difficult to sell the opportunity when working with a company like Pure Haven Essentials who has some red flags in it’s background.

It’ll increase skepticism from prospects.

Whether it’s your friends or family, or Joe Shmo that gets recruited, almost everybody that joins an MLM doesn’t understand the importance of sales in the business.

That’s why the majority of people fail.

How I Make 6 Figures Online In 2019

Let me rewind to 2012.

I was a freshman in college and was presented with an MLM opportunity early in that year.

I grinded hard for about 8 months with that opportunity.

Worked on mindset endlessly and was obsessed with it because I was told how important it was (and it is).

At the end of those 8 months I decided to stop because I really wasn’t making that much money for the amount of time I was spending on the business.

Fast forward to early 2015.

I was working a 9 to 5 and I’d had enough of it. From my prior business experience I knew it was possible for me to make money on the internet.

I started searching for ways that I could make that happen to free myself from the daily grind and start making the money I dreamed of making.
